Day 1 of Nappy and Fat Blog
After many years of being the thin, cute girl with the long permed hair something happened...LIFE!! I got married at the young age of 23 and had my son a few months before my 24th birthday. I weighed a low 125 at my first prenatal visit which was the most that I had weighed in my life. The pregnancy went well, although I felt as if I had Prater Willie Syndrome!! I was ALWAYS hungry!! I gained a whopping 20 pounds my first trimester to the dismay of my doctors. "You are going to hate yourself at the end." They chimed. When I was induced 2 weeks before my due date, I weighed in at 193 pounds!!! I had gained 68 pounds during my pregnancy. It still didn't hit me.I had been thin my entire life. I would bounce back, I thought. Well, after Jordan was born via C-Section, reality set in. My stomach looked like chopped pork. It was all saggy and tired looking. My breast were still in tact for the most part. Everyone said I would never have a flat stomach again because of the surgery. Therefore, it has been one of life's goals for me to have a tummy tuck. After one month at home with the baby I had lost 27 pounds..so I just knew the rest would fall off. After all, I was breast feeding. Wrong!! That's when I realized that those 27 pounds were part of the 30 the doctor had told me to lose and if I had gained only THOSE 30 pounds I would have been 130 one month post pregnancy, not 166. For the next year and a half I wore drab Hanes jooging suits and became even more depressed. My mom called me one day and told me about a weight loss clinic that gave great results. I begged my THEN HUBBY for the 200.00 I needed to get started. Using Phentermine and a 1200 caloried diet, I lost 12 pounds by the next doctor's visit. I obtained my next set of pills and never went back since my husband refuse to give me the money. I gave up and never finished the second bottle of pills. I went down a dress size on the phentermine and could wear size 8-10 pants. Still big compared to my 0's, 3's and 6's of my past. Later that year I begin work as a school teacher and the demands of a toddler, a new career, and an unhappy marriage took it's toll. By the end of the 3rd year teaching I was wearing a size 12 and weighed 175-180 pounds. Now, 8 years later I weighed 191 as of last week when the doctor weighed me and gave me a presciption of phentermine. I have been on it. For 5 days now. I have lost 7 pounds. This blog with chronicle my plight to regain myself again after a painful divorce, and my need to start my life over from scratch. I hope you visit often and comment!!! Nappytop
